Biography
Esther Smith spent most of her working life in the UK and has accumulated over 37 years’ experience in various management roles within the travel/tourism and sports industry. She has a proven planning, communications and influencing record and is results driven with staff management skills, complemented by a sound experienced background.
Esther worked for 13 years with BWIA (British West Indian Airways) in London in Sales and Marketing before moving to become UK Director for the St Kitts & Nevis Tourist Board for over 10 years.
Esther then opened her own company ESP (Esther Smith Promotions) specialising in public relations and Sporting Logistics. Esther held the roles of Secretariat, Treasurer and Board Member for ANTOR UK (Association of National Tourist Office Representatives UK) before taking on the contract of PR/Marketing for Dominican Republic UK & Ireland Tourist Board for 10 years increasing the awareness of Dominican Republic throughout the UK & Ireland with media and consumer. She was also contracted by Lebanon, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, and Fiji Tourism offices to administer ad-hoc PR and promotional services.
Esther is a former chairwoman of the CTO (Caribbean Tourism Organisation) UK.
Esther is a huge sports fan, especially cricket and has been involved with the ICC (International Cricket Council) since 2007 dealing with the logistics with hotels and transport of the international cricket teams during various T20 and 50 overs World Cup Tournaments around the world. In addition, Esther has also provided logistics experience with the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and FIFA Football World Cup tournament in Qatar in 2022.
In her spare time, Esther volunteers for various charities in the UK and St Kitts assisting with their social media, marketing, fund-raising, and public awareness.
